The ROAD iD app is now SafeBeacon! Same safety features you know and trust — Activity Tracking, Stationary Alerts, real-time location sharing — just a new name and home. SafeBeacon is now operated by SafeSignal Inc.

Is SafeBeacon the same as ROAD iD?

Yes! SafeBeacon is the new name for the ROAD iD app. All your favorite features work exactly the same way.

Do I need to create a new account?

No. Your existing ROAD iD account still works. Just sign in with your same email address.

What happened to my subscription?

Your subscription transferred automatically. No action needed — just keep adventuring!

What is the SafeBeacon App?

The SafeBeacon App is designed to provide safety and peace of mind to you and your family. It allows you to share your activity with family members and friends whenever you head outdoors for an adventure – whether that's a run, ride, hike, walk, or any outdoor activity.

Activity notifications can be sent via email or text message and allow your contacts to track your adventure in real time on a map. This feature also includes an optional Stationary Alert that can notify your selected contacts if you stop moving for more than 5 minutes.

Is the app available for iPhone and Android?

Yes, the app is available for both iPhone and Android users.

What is Activity Tracking?

Activity Tracking allows you to share your location via email or text message with selected family members and friends whenever you head outdoors for an adventure. It allows your contacts to track your adventure in real-time on an online map.

How do my contacts see my activity?

Your selected contacts do not need the SafeBeacon App to see your location. You choose to send communications via SMS or email and the link to your online maps are viewable in any internet browser.

What is a Stationary Alert?

The Stationary Alert function will be activated if you remain within the same 15-foot (5 meter) diameter for five minutes or longer. You will have the opportunity to disable any Stationary Alert before it sends a message to your selected contacts.

Can the SafeBeacon App detect if I've had an accident?

If you stop moving for more than 5 minutes AND do not cancel the Stationary Alert countdown, a message will be sent to your selected contacts notifying them that you haven't moved in 5 minutes.

What happens if I lose cell service?

Your phone will continue to collect GPS data points locally. When you regain coverage, the App will send all the missed data points to your online map.

What is the impact on my phone's battery life?

The App is designed to be easy on your battery. Testing shows minimal battery impact during multi-hour workouts.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription, you'll need to cancel through the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).

For iPhone:

  1. Open the App Store
  2. Tap your profile icon and go to Settings
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select the SafeBeacon App subscription
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

For Android:

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Tap your profile icon
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
  4. Select the SafeBeacon App subscription
  5. Tap Cancel subscription

How do I delete my account?

Account deletion can be requested within the app. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the app and navigate to Account
  2. Select 'DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT'

Please note: Deleting your account will permanently delete your account and all associated data. If you only want to delete your ride history, please contact us at help@safebeacon.com.
